How Can MMA Fighters Maintain Their Peak Performance in the ring?

The unforgettable Paris Olympics have come to a close, filled with spectacular moments from the opening ceremony, various competitions, to the final closing event. However, for fans of sports like car racing, snooker, and UFC, the Olympics might have felt slightly incomplete. Athletes like Max Verstappen, Mark Allen, and Brandon Royval, who belong to professional sports that are currently non-Olympic events, could not showcase their brilliance on the Olympic stage. Zhang Weili, a Chinese professional mixed martial artist, finds herself in a similar situation as MMA is not yet an Olympic event. However, out of her passion for sports, Zhang Weili attended the Paris Olympics to watch the 3x3 basketball, wrestling, and boxing competitions—sports closely related to her own MMA discipline. In an interview, Zhang confidently stated, "I believe MMA will eventually become an Olympic sport because of its high entertainment value." Zhang's strong confidence in the future inclusion of MMA in the Olympics is clear, and the sport's global popularity shows it has the potential to become an Olympic event.

(1) What is the Significance of the Strawweight Division in MMA?

Just like Olympic sports such as weightlifting, judo, and wrestling, MMA also has weight divisions. The men's MMA divisions include heavyweight (206-265 lbs), light heavyweight (186-205 lbs), middleweight (171-185 lbs), welterweight (156-170 lbs), lightweight (146-155 lbs), featherweight (136-145 lbs), bantamweight (126-135 lbs), and flyweight (116-125 lbs). The women’s MMA divisions are fewer, with only bantamweight, flyweight, and strawweight divisions. Female fighters under 115 lbs compete in the strawweight division. Each division has its rankings, and there is also a comprehensive "Pound for Pound" (P4P) ranking across all divisions. As of the latest rankings, Zhang Weili is ranked number one in the strawweight division and has consistently been in the top three of the P4P rankings.

(2) How Are MMA Elites Made?

Zhang Weili showed an exceptional talent for combat sports from a young age. She began learning martial arts at the age of 6, started Sanda (Chinese kickboxing) training at 12, and won the Hebei Province Sanda Championship at 17. However, due to unscientific training, Zhang had to retire early. At 20, she moved to Beijing and worked at a local jiu-jitsu gym, where she met Chinese fighter Wu Haotian. At 23, Wu introduced Zhang to the Beijing Black Tiger Fight Club for further training, where she met her future coach, Cai Xuejun.

In her second year at Black Tiger Club, Zhang Weili began her professional career. With impressive performances in events like Kunlun Fight, Zhang made her debut in the Ultimate Fighting Championship (UFC) in August 2018. In less than two years, Zhang achieved an incredible record of 5 wins and 0 losses in the UFC.

(3) How Do MMA Veterans Over 30 Maintain Their "Ageless Legends"?

By 2020, 31-year-old Zhang Weili had already won 2 UFC strawweight championships, 3 Kunlun Fight flyweight championships, and the South Korean TOP FC women’s strawweight championship. Maintaining her excellence in the ring became a crucial consideration. Zhang’s unscientific training during her youth led to a three-year absence from the ring. For Zhang Weili, scientific training is key to prolonging her career. Using a hyperbaric oxygen chamber is one of the best ways for athletes to maintain peak performance, especially for strength athletes. A hyperbaric oxygen chamber can effectively eliminate exercise-induced fatigue, quickly restore physical strength, and reduce sports injuries.

It was at this time that Shanghai Baobang Medical Equipment Co., Ltd. (MACY-PAN) had the honor of meeting Zhang Weili. MACY-PAN is Asia's number one hyperbaric oxygen chamber manufacturer, with 17 years of experience in the design, production, and global export of hyperbaric oxygen chambers since its founding in 2007. The company has over 120 employees, including technicians, salespeople, and workers, and has exported to 126 countries and regions. MACY-PAN deeply respects Zhang Weili's journey, and after discussions among MACY-PAN executives and Zhang’s team, they decided to sponsor Zhang Weili with an HP1501-90 hard hyperbaric oxygen chamber, contributing to her pursuit of excellence in MMA.

Why Did Zhang Weili Choose the HP1501-90?

Among the many hyperbaric oxygen chambers that MACY-PAN offers, including the ST801, ST2200, MC4000, L1, and HE5000, the HP1501-90 stood out for several reasons:

1.Size and Durability: The HP1501-90 is a hard hyperbaric oxygen chamber, measuring 220x90cm(36inches) and weighing 170kg, with a maximum pressure of 1.6 ATA.

2.Spacious Design: Compared to the HP1501-75 and HP1501-85, the HP1501-90 offers more space, allowing athletes to further relax their limbs during treatment.

3.Versatile Treatment Modes: The HP1501-90 primarily supports lying treatment, but with its 90cm width, athletes can also adopt a semi-sitting position along the chamber’s side.
